A Schedule for a
Happy & Healthy Pup
Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but setting a consistent routine is essential to help them feel safe, well-adjusted, and healthy. Puppies thrive on structure, so following a daily schedule for meals, potty breaks, naps, and playtime will make training easier for both you and your furry friend.
Here’s a tried-and-true puppy routine to keep your pup happy and thriving!
🐾 Puppy Daily Routine & Schedule
⏰ 6:30 AM – Rise & Potty Break
The day starts bright and early! As soon as your puppy wakes up, take them to their puppy pad or litter box for their first potty break. Puppies need to relieve themselves immediately after waking up, so be consistent!
🍽 7:00 AM – Breakfast & Vitamins
Time for the first meal of the day! Feed your puppy their morning meal along with a pea-sized drop of vitamins to support their growth and development.
🐶 7:30 - 9:00 AM – Playtime & Potty Breaks
After breakfast, it’s playtime! This is a great time for light exercise, interactive toys, and socializing with you. Be sure to offer potty breaks throughout this play session to prevent accidents.
😴 9:30 AM – Morning Nap
Puppies need a lot of sleep to grow properly. After all that play, it’s time to rest and recharge with a morning nap. Let them snooze in a quiet, cozy spot.
🚽 11:30 AM – Wake Up, Potty Break & Vitamins
After their nap, your puppy will need a potty break and another dose of vitamins to keep them strong and healthy.
🥗 12:00 PM – Lunch Time
Time for meal #2! A well-balanced meal will keep your puppy’s energy levels up throughout the afternoon.
🎾 12:30 PM – Potty Break & Playtime
After lunch, it’s time for more fun! Let your pup play, explore, and socialize while offering regular potty breaks to reinforce good habits.
🛏 3:00 PM – Afternoon Nap
All that playing can be exhausting! A midday nap ensures your pup stays well-rested and in a good mood.
🐕 5:00 PM – Wake Up, Potty Break & Playtime
Once they wake up, it’s time for another potty break followed by more playtime and bonding with their family.
🍖 6:00 PM – Dinner & Vitamins
Dinner is served! Make sure your puppy eats their final meal of the day, along with another pea-sized drop of vitamins to maintain their health.
🐾 6:30 PM – Evening Playtime
Evening play is a great way to burn off any extra energy before bedtime. Interactive play, short walks, or gentle training sessions can help prepare your puppy for sleep.
🌙 8:00 PM – Bedtime
Time to wind down for the night. Settle your puppy in their crate, playpen, or bed in a quiet space to ensure they get the rest they need for another fun-filled day tomorrow!
